DTC GT10 Astroid Bullet Price, Specs, In the Flesh Photos : 6-inch Dual Core Android Phablet

I was walking around SM San Lazaro in Manila with my folks last Saturday when I chanced uponDTC's kiosk at the top floor. I've been receiving a lot of questions about the releases of this local player so I decided to stop by and check out some of their devices.
They're keeping a number of cool handsets in their display cabinet - including DTC GT6 Astroid Jack, GT7 Astroid Max, GT8 Astroid Bit, and DTC GT9 Astroid Pump - but this one immediately captured by fancy -- because of its sheer size.
DTC GT10 Astroid Bullet joins the Astroid Pump to form the company's current flagship smartphone duo. Whereas GT9 was created to compete in the 5-inch-and-below handset echelon, GT10 is DTC's version of a monster phablet.
Just 0.1-inch smaller than that of Huawei Ascend Mate, Astroid Bullet's display measures a whopping 6-inch, which puts it in the same category as the almost oddly-large Samsung Galaxy Mega smartphone-tablet hybrids. Obviously, the main advantage in having this feature is that you have more area to view your content and you get a larger virtual keyboard for easier and faster thumb-typing. Unfortunately, though, the massive display only comes with WVGA resolution and 155 ppi pixel density so if you're looking for clarity of details more than screen size, you might want to check out another handset altogether.

Other technical specifications include 1.2 GHz Dual Core MT6577T processor running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 512 MB of RAM, 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash, VGA front-facing cam, 4 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, GPS, FM Radio, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity support, and a 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack.
Needless to say, GT10's specs are far from being top-notch especially when compared to that of freshly-announced phablets by other local players like Starmobile Diamond V7 and MyPhone Iceberg. Nonetheless, when you consider that the device only costs Php 6,990 (down from Php 7,290 a couple of weeks ago), that's something we can easily overlook.
